Australian Adventist tithe data reveals a paradox: absolute tithe receipts have risen annually for decades, but tithe as a proportion of member income has declined by approximately 40% over the past 20 years. The South Pacific Division projected total tithe of AU$149-150 million for 2021, up from AU$148 million in 2020, with a 6% year-on-year increase. However, this nominal growth masks a per-capita decline when adjusted for both inflation and income growth. Surveys show high stated faithfulness—88.8% of AU/NZ respondents claim to return a full 10% tithe—but aggregate data contradicts this, suggesting either survey response bias or a shrinking base of high-income tithers subsidising overall figures. Per-capita tithe decreases progressively from older to younger age groups, indicating a generational erosion pattern.
